We are excited to announce that Mountain View Elementary School has been named a National PTA School of Excellence! As a National PTA School of Excellence, MVES made significant progress to welcome and empower families to support student success and school improvements during the course of the 2014-2015 school year.
Mountain View Elementary School joins an elite group of schools recognized by the National PTA for its partnership with families through PTA to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
The 2015 Governor’s Shape Honor Roll schools have been selected! This award recognizes schools for their dedication to creating a healthy school environment and a culture of wellness for staff, students and community. Select Georgia's schools were recognized by the Governor's Office, the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Department of Public Health for their exceptional commitment to efforts that improve student wellness.

Mountain View has been awarded the Platinum Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association. As a Platinum level award recipient, Mountain View has fulfilled key criteria and demonstrated a strong commitment to providing a healthy workplace for employees.
Mountain View has completed the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Project S.A.V.E.’s Heart Safe certification. Our Cardiac Emergency Action Plan has been formulated and practiced in the event of a Sudden Cardiac Emergency.
We are fired up to announce that Mountain View has won the 3-2-1 Blastoff Award in the amount of $150! Fire Up Your Feet is a core program of Safe Routes to School National Partnership available to any elementary and middle school (grades K-8) nationally. Let's Move! Active Schools, a sub-initiative of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign, recognized Mountain View for creating an active school environment that provides students with opportunities to move throughout the school day. To earn recognition, Mountain View improved its physical education and student wellness policies and programs, including the addition of physical activity options throughout the school day, the promotion of active commuting, and the implementation of policies that support physical activity.
