Dear Mountain View Families

Welcome back to our returning families!  To our new families, welcome to the Mountain View community!  We hope you had a great summer!

Mountain View Elementary School has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that is a partnership between the administration, teachers and parents to make Mountain View a great place for our children to grow and learn. We are looking forward to working closely with our dedicated parents, staff, and community to fulfill the PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality.

In order to ensure a successful year, we need your support. Becoming a member of PTA is the first step in assisting our amazing teachers in the classroom. Your generous donation allows us to provide resources such as:

  • online curriculum such as Raz Kids, Spelling City, and SumDog;
  • curriculum tools such as Time For Kids and Weekly Reader;
  • science and computer lab supplies, such as OzoBots and iPads;
  • supplies for P.E., art and music;
  • visiting authors and artists;
  • enrichment tools for Special Education, Target and Speech;
  • health and wellness initiatives;
  • professional development for our teachers;
  • supplies for the health clinic, cleaning materials and more!

The PTA is excited to continue engaging our families with our Family Engagement events- Fall Festival(Oct 18), International Night (Nov 14), and Winter Dance (Feb 7). This year, we will be adding speakers to our PTA general meetings. We hope you will join us for our first event on August 22nd featuring Barrett Johnson, Parenting the Smartphone Generation.

For our PTA to be effective and represent our entire student body, participation of our parents is essential. We welcome all members of the Mountain View community to help us make a difference in our students’ lives. Whether you have an occasional 30 minutes or are willing to participate as a committee member, we truly appreciate your time, ideas, and talents in any way you can assist. Our parents are one of our most valuable assets of our school! To volunteer, please do not hesitate to contact one of us or click on the Volunteer link in the menu bar above.

Thank you in advance for your continued support! We have many exciting things planned for the year ahead. We wish you all a successful school year and look forward to seeing you at Sneak A Peek and Curriculum Day on Tuesday, July 30.

Many Thanks,

Stacey Albracht & Wendy Stone
