@ Cobb 4-H

Weekly Summer Activities
Are you looking for summer activities for your current fourth-12th grader? Cobb County 4-H will host weekly summer activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of June. Activities include a “Chopped” Cooking competition, swimming, "Flix and Fun" movie day, UGA college tour, tubing in Helen and a farm tour. Activities are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and transportation is provided from the Extension Office. Please visit HERE for more information or to view the registration form.

Greyhound Fencing Club 8th Annual Summer Camp
7/10-7/13 @ 9-3pm, Rising 6-12 graders
Following another Championship 2015-16 Season, camp is open also to home schooled students in the same age groups. No experience is necessary and equipment will be provided for new fencers. Experienced fencers are also welcome. Due to construction at Pope High School, the fencing camp will be held at Tritt Elementary School in the gym, located at 4435 Post Oak Tritt Road in Marietta (30062). For information and to register, click HERE

Matt Harpings "Back To Basics" Basketball Camp
Year 15 for this Popular Camp!

Ages 8-11 and 12-15
$275 per child; $510 for 2 children or 1 child/2 sessions; $725 for 3 children

It's a 4 day camp for each session, with each age bracket in its own gym. Matt will be involved with both gyms. Both sessions are for both Boys and Girls. There will be a cut-off after we reach a max number for each camp.
Registration form must be accompanied with the full payment (and mailed). 

Goals of the camp are teaching basketball techniques/fundamentals, discipline, respect for the game/each other and to learn valuable life lessons along with having fun.

Designed for rising 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls who have an interest in science and engineering. This five day camp will offer students the opportunity to explore an array of science and engineering fields including Forensics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Genetics. During the camp students will attend small group application-based workshops in each of these areas.

 

The cost for each of these camps is $250 due with registration which ends 4/15/17. The Summer University experience is an engaging combination of learning and enjoyment. Each summer, our courses are designed to give students an opportunity to explore their creativity, challenge their minds and build new friendships. KSU Soccer Junior High Development Camp
(all girls rising 6th grade through 8th grade)
Dates: July 18, 19, 20 - Day camp only, no overnight option.
This camp is designed for the camper who wants to challenge themselves to play at a higher level. The morning will consist of training sessions rotated every 30 minutes. Sessions will be coached by college coaches and players. Goalkeepers will be trained by our KSU Goalkeeper Staff. Early afternoon will focus on positional training to give a specific focus to each camper. Georgia State Summer 2016 Brain Camp
The GSU Saturday School for Scholars and Leaders in partnership with the Neuroscience Institute at GSU is now enrolling for the 2016 Brain Camp for students in grades K through 8th. In this camp, students will immerse themselves into the fascinating world of neuroscience by exploring the structure and function of the parts the brain, complete a comparative study of various animal brains, explore optical illusions, have fun with brain games, and much more. Shakespeare Superheroes is designed to introduce kids to the language, stories, characters and ideas in Shakespeare’s plays in imaginative and playful ways. P.A.R.K.S. Recreation Centers Open Registration 
for Summer Camps

Day camps are offered at the following recreation centers: Fair Oaks, Fullers, Ron Anderson and Ward Recreation Center. Registration is currently in progress for recreation center day camps. The fee is $100 per week and camps are offered for kids (ages 6-11) and teens (ages 12-15). Discounts are available for multiple children from one family. Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Summer camps are also available at the South Cobb Recreation Center. These camps are run by the Michael A. Grant Boys and Girls Club. Registration for these camps take place March 7-11 for new members. Contact the South Cobb Recreation Center for information on these camps at 770-819-3240.

Cobb's art centers will begin registration for their summer camp programs on Wednesday, March 9. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. online and in person. Camps are offered at The Art Place - Mountain View, The Art Station - Big Shanty, and the Mable House Arts Center.

Court Camp
CourtCamp provides hands-on skill building to middle-schoolers and high-schoolers during summer vacation and school breaks.  Working both individually and by collaborating in small groups, CourtCampers prepare a fictional case for trial.   Led by experienced attorneys, CourtCampers develop real-world skills including critical thinking, logical reasoning, public speaking, and professional polish.   Ideal for teens simply exploring, and for budding attorneys alike.  No prior experience or preparation necessary. Peacebuilders Camp
Peacebuilders Camp at Koinonia Farm is a unique overnight summer camp in rural south Georgia where youth ages 11 to 14 spend a week together learning how to work toward peace and justice.
