Cotillion Interest Form - 4th Grade/Rising 5th Grade

Dear Current 4th Grade/Rising 5th Grade Parents,

Please see info below regarding Cotillion Classes next year for 5th graders and fill out the form if you are interested. You are eligible to be invited only if you fill out this form by August 21. However, this doesn't guarantee your spot. Invitations will be emailed on August 29 with the registration date, so be on the lookout. You may need to check your spam folder. Classes take place at Olde Towne Athletic Club. Please let Parent Coordinators Amanda Duffy or Cristall Harkins know if you have any questions.

Dogwood Cotillion was established in 1989 to provide a program for young people to have the opportunity to practice and develop social skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The skills learned through the cotillion program are invaluable to young people. They will use these skills when interacting with others socially through school, sports, work and family.

Currently, we are gathering information for those children interested in participating in our Winter 2025 Cotillion session. Each session consists of 4 one hour and fifteen minute classes, held one time per week. During each class, we will introduce dances as well as discuss different topics of etiquette and social skills, including telephone manners, introductions, eye contact, thank you notes, dining etiquette, and more.  If your child will be in 5th grade for the 2024-25 school year and would like to receive an invitation in late August to register for one of our Dogwood Cotillion sessions, please complete the following Interest Form.

 >>>INTEREST FORM <<<

Please note that by completing this interest form, you are not obligated to register your child for Dogwood Cotillion. When invitations are emailed, you will have an opportunity to review the Winter 2025 Dogwood Cotillion session schedule at Dogwood Cotillion prior to registration. In addition, completing the interest form does not guarantee your child a spot. You will receive an invitation to register, but spots will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Students who participate in these 5th grade sessions will be invited to attend future Dogwood Cotillion sessions where we expand on the dances and social skills taught from the previous years and introduce additional age appropriate topics.

We are excited for this upcoming year of Dogwood Cotillion and look forward to having your child join us!

Sincerely,

Renee Smith and Brenda Laskey

Dogwood Cotillion Co-Directors

MVES Recycles

Did you know the PTA sponsors a school-wide classroom recycling program at MVES?!?

Last year, we diverted 7,278 pounds of waste from the landfill. Recycling saves energy, and we saved the equivalent of 2,561 gallons of gasoline by recycling last school year. From an environmental impact perspective, that is equivalent to removing 5 cars from the road for an entire year!

Help us continue to make an impact!  Sign Up HERE to assist the Environmental Committee with gathering the classroom recycling bins.

Collecting classroom recycling is a fun and active way to volunteer at your child's school while making an impact in our community. As an added bonus, you almost always get to see your children in action at school. If this is your first time, someone from the Environmental Committee will be there to show you the ropes. We look forward to volunteering with you!!
