Visiting Author Program
The Visiting Author program at Mountain View Elementary is a PTA sponsored initiative that brings published authors to campus. This program allows students to better understand the creative writing, illustrating and publishing process.

Unicorn Jazz ™ is a children’s book series that Celebrates Belonging, Being Unique, Believing In Others and Being Kind. Social emotional learning components are important to award-winning children’s author, Lisa Caprelli. Caprelli helps teach students lessons from reading, writing, art, music and digital technology. Stuart Gibbs is the author of the Charlie Thorne series and the New York Times bestselling FunJungle, Spy School, and Moon Base Alpha series. He has written the screenplays for movies like See Spot Run and Repli-Kate, worked on a whole bunch of animated films, and developed TV shows for Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, ABC, and Fox. He is the original author of the Pete the Cat series as well as the author of The Nuts and Groovy Joe. Eric's books have sold over 12.5 million copies, been translated into 17 languages, and won 26 literacy awards including a Theodor Geisel Seuss Honor Award.
Eric will be at Mountain View on November 4, 2019 and will perform for all grades.
